Rich Steinmetz
PGA Head Golf Professional

 
Rich Steinmetz began playing golf socially at the age of 11, and competitively at the age of 14.  As a junior golfer, Rich won the Philadelphia Jr. PGA two times.  At 16 he made it all the way to the Optimist Jr. World Championships at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.  He was a two time PAC 10 Champion, and qualified three times for the PIAA State Championships during his high school career.

Rich was hired as the 2nd Assistant Pro at Blue Bell Country Club after college.  He worked at Blue Bell for two years before being hired at Spring Ford Country Club as the 1st Assistant Pro.  After serving ten years as Assistant, Rich was named Head Golf Professional at Spring Ford in 2007.

As a professional, he has won over 100 professional golf events, including the 2007, 2010 & 2011 Philadelphia PGA Section Championships, the 2009 Philadelphia Open, the 2022 Philadelphia  Senior PGA Section Championship and the 2023 Senior Pennsylvania Open.  He has also played in two PGA Championships (2005 at Baltusrol and 2010 at Whistling Straits).  In 2005 Rich represented the United States at the PGA Cup matches in Ireland at the K Club.

Other honors include winning the Philadelphia PGA Player of the Year in 2006 and being named the Philadelphia PGA assistant professional of the Year in 2004.  Rich also won the award for low scoring average in the Philadelphia section in 2003 & 2005.  He has recorded six holes-in-one, with three in competition.

Mark Rubbo

In 1985, as a sophomore at Henderson High School in West Chester, PA, Mark started as a groundskeeper at Whitford Country Club.  After graduating from Henderson in 1987, it was off to Pennsylvania State University to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy.

After graduation, Mark served as Golf Course Superintendent of Timber Trails Golf Club and as Assistant Maintenance Superintendent of Lake Naomi Club.  In late 1994, Mark came to Spring Ford Country Club to work for and learn from Dana Getty, the club's veteran Superintendent.  Upon Dana's retirement, Mark was promoted to the position to Golf Course Superintendent in January 1998.

Through continuing education, Mark maintains a Class A Superintendent status, and he has been active with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America for twenty years.  He currently holds the officer level position of Secretary of the Philadelphia Association of Golf Course Superintendents.  As the Philadelphia Association of Golf Course Superintendents' Chapter Delegate he acts as liaison between the local the national associations.

Mark has been married to his wife Cathie for over twenty years.  On the course he is often accompanied by his dog Koda who serves as Chief Goose-Chaser.
Tony DeGisi

Tony DeGisi has been a certified PGA Professional since 1970.  After serving in the US Army, Tony joined Spring Ford Country Club in 1973.  During the course of his career, Tony has competed with Greg Norman and numerous other top ranked professional golfers.  Some of the Pro-Am Tournaments he has participated in have taken him to countries outside the US.  To his credit many of his assistants have gone on to become golf professionals across the country.

In 2007, after 34 years of dedicated service to the Spring Ford membership, Tony was granted Pro Emeritus status.  Tony continues to teach the finest junior golfer program in the Delaware Valley.  You can always find Tony on the driving range or giving a lesson to an aspiring golfer.
