Christian Hipszer
Executive Chef

Born in Phoenixville, PA and raised in Berks County, Chef Chris Hipszer was always around the kitchen in his younger years. In high school, Chef Chris acquired a job at a local restaurant and the rest was history.

At the age of 18, while working in a local pizzeria, a gentleman walked in with a chef coat on and Chris asked about the jacket. After finding out about the gentleman being a chef, Chris was sold on going to culinary school instantly. He then enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Upon graduation, Chris worked at all three restaurants at South Seas Plantation in Captiva, FL, working with a lot of fresh fish and some great chefs.

Upon leaving Florida, Chris worked at numerous local country clubs including SFCC in 1999. From there, he assisted in the reopening of local Lakeside Inn. After working at the Inn for several years, he decided it was time to make his move to corporate food service. Chris then moved to Wildwood, New Jersey to run the Wildwoods Convention Center Food Service for a Buffalo based company. He then moved to Buffalo to become the Executive Chef at Ralph Wilson Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills. Shortly after, he received his Certified Chef de Cuisine Certification in Napa Valley Culinary Institute of America.

When the New York Yankees were opening their new stadium, Chris moved to New York to give his assistance. What an experience it was for him–fifteen kitchens, not a knife, a cook, or an onion. After the successful opening and one season, he moved to Florida for a consulting position with a local Clearwater Hotel. One and a half years later, Chris relocated back to area to spend time with family and close friends and took on the executive chef job again back here at SFCC.
